The MARS simulator is available on the department Linux computers. To start MARS, open a terminal window and enter

  mars

at the command-line prompt.

Download. MARS is a Java program that you can use on your own computer, but you must have Java installed.

1. If you do not have a version of Java or the Java Runtime Environment (JRE) installed, visit this site to download and install Java appropriate for your operating system

2. Download the MARS Simulator and save it on your computer. There is no installer for MARS, it is simply a jar file.

After downloading and saving the MARS jar file, you should be able to double click on the mars.jar file to execute it.
